Contracts Manager Jobs

A Contracts Manager in the utilities industry is responsible for drafting, evaluating, negotiating, and executing contracts; overseeing contract performance; ensuring compliance with contract terms and legal requirements; and resolving any contract-related concerns or disputes. They collaborate with different departments, including legal, procurement, and financial teams, to ensure that contracts align with company goals and regulatory guidelines. They monitor and manage contracts with suppliers, contractors, and customers, ensuring that all parties adhere to contract terms, conditions, and deadlines. They also identify and mitigate contract risks and handle contract amendments or terminations.

Essential skills for a Contracts Manager include excellent negotiation and communication skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and knowledge of contract law and regulations. They should also have a solid understanding of the Utilities industry, including its regulatory environment and the contract needs specific to utilities. They should ideally possess a certification such as the Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) from the National Contract Management Association. Prior roles that would provide good experience for this position include Contract Administrator, Procurement Specialist, or Legal Advisor in the Utilities sector.
