Production Supervisor Jobs
A Production Supervisor in the utilities industry is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a production facility, ensuring all activities are conducted safely and efficiently. This includes planning and organizing production schedules, assessing project and resource requirements, and ensuring that health and safety regulations are met. They have to ensure that all operations are consistent with the company's goals and objectives, and that all staff are properly trained and motivated. They may also be responsible for maintenance and repair of equipment, the quality of products, and liaising with other departments such as procurement and distribution.
Important skills for a Production Supervisor in Utilities include strong leadership, communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and an in-depth knowledge of the industry's technology and machinery. Certifications in occupational health and safety, environmental management, or manufacturing operations are beneficial, as well as a degree in engineering or business management. Before becoming a Production Supervisor, a person may have roles such as Production Operator, Production Technician, or Shift Supervisor. These roles all provide valuable experience in production operations, team management, and problem-solving within the utilities industry.
