Utilities Operations Manager Jobs in Missouri

A Utilities Operations Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of utility departments such as electricity, gas, or water and ensuring regulatory compliance. They oversee planning, maintenance, and repair of utility infrastructure and systems, coordinate projects, and supervise staff. They analyze and improve operating processes, manage budgets, and ensure safety standards. Ensuring the consistent and efficient supply of utilities to consumers and resolving utility outages or issues are also key responsibilities.

Essential skills include strategic planning, project management, and strong leadership abilities. Knowledge in utility systems, regulations, and safety procedures is critical. They should have excellent problem-solving capabilities, and analytical skills, coupled with a strong understanding of budgeting and financial management. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is generally required, along with relevant industry certifications. Prior roles a person may have before stepping into this position include Utilities Operations Supervisor, Utilities Engineer, or Project Manager in a utilities company.
