Safety Manager Jobs in Colorado

A Safety Manager in the utilities industry is responsible for implementing and maintaining safety protocols to ensure the protection of the organization's employees, the public, and the environment. They conduct safety audits, provide training programs, develop safety policies, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules. A Safety Manager continuously monitors and reviews safety procedures, works on the identification and resolution of potential hazards, and leads actions during emergency situations. Additionally, they play a critical role in accident investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of corrective action plans.

Essential skills for this role include strong knowledge of safety management processes and regulations, excellent communication and leadership skills, detail-oriented with high organizational abilities, and expertise in risk management and policy development. Safety Managers should be certified safety professionals or have qualifications like Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST). Before becoming a Safety Manager, one might have roles such as Safety Coordinator, Safety Specialist, or Environmental Health and Safety Officer.
