Instrumentation Specialist Jobs in New Jersey
An Instrumentation Specialist in the utilities industry is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of a company's measuring and control devices. This may include pressure gauges, temperature sensors, flow meters, or other instruments used in the measurement and control of electricity, gas, water, and other utilities. They ensure these devices are accurate and functioning properly to assist in the efficient operation of utility systems. Additionally, they may be involved in system diagnostics and troubleshooting, as well as the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs.
Key skills for this role include a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Instrumentation Specialists should be able to work independently, but also collaborate effectively with a team. They may also need to understand and adhere to safety regulations and procedures. Certifications such as a Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) or similar could be beneficial. Some potential previous roles that would provide relevant experience could include Instrument Technician, Control Systems Technician, or Maintenance Technician.
