Job Role: The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for analyzing systems, identifying root causes of inefficiencies, and developing processes that enhance operational efficiency, quality, and productivity across the organization. This role applies methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and PDCA to eliminate waste, standardize workflows, and ensure consistent quality. The role is open to both early-career professionals and experienced candidates-ideal for someone passionate about problem-solving and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Key Duties:

  • Support the design, development, and implementation of process improvement initiatives across engineering, manufacturing, and field operations.
  • Conduct root cause analysis using tools like 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, and Pareto charts to identify and address recurring issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership to assess current workflows, gather data, and recommend improvements.
  • Evaluate operational methods and technology applications to optimize production and service processes.
  • Participate in the development of safety training content and support the company's STAR training program.
  • Assist with ERP system process improvements and documentation (Epicor preferred).
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and video walk-throughs for process consistency and training.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality metrics to track the effectiveness of improvement initiatives.
  • Provide project support and data analysis to departments across the company.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong interest in continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and process development.
  • Familiarity with methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, PDCA, Gemba, or SIPOC.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work cross-functionally.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Coursework or experience in data analysis and tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, or Minitab is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage project teams in process improvement areas.

Preferences:

  • Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience with Epicor ERP system.
  • Exposure to field service, manufacturing, or construction environments.
