Regional Field Service Technician - Indianapolis

Intralox has a position available for SERVICE+ Technician in the Indianapolis, IN area. This position requires a strong mechanical background to provide technical service and support for low-tension polymer belting technology in conveyor applications. Effective planning and communication skills are also needed to manage a territory of approximately 5- to 6-hour (400-mile) radius. The SERVICE+ Technician must be available for some further travel throughout North America as needed, including Canada, but this is anticipated to be low volume.Asatechnical resource, your role is tosupportproactive connectionswith customersto strengthen our partnerships by highlighting the value our transformative technology brings as well as providing reactive support when needed. The SERVICE+ Technician will also work closely with account managers to ensure alignment and foster a team atmosphere. You will proactively schedule service visits to maximize overall effectiveness. We believe in the power of a good idea no matter where it comes from, using trust as the foundation to how we work, and that self-managed people are our greatest asset.Responsibilities:Support and promote low-tension polymer conveyor belt applicationsEffectively communicate and build relationships with account managers and customersSupport, coordinate and perform belt installations in customer facilitiesTroubleshoot and correct problem installations or applications in the fieldFind solutions on-the-fly and determine/communicate opportunitiesProvide technical assistance and training to salespeople and customers remotely by phone, reports, webcasts, and especially in person at customer facilitiesInspect conveyors to gather detailed technical information on opportunities for improvementCommunicate belt and conveyor recommendations verbally and in written reportsArrange and execute efficient travel on short notice, including nights and weekendsOccasionally perform belt performance program calculationsMaintain the professional appearance and safe operation of the service van and equipmentService emphasis upon Food customers in a particular geographic region in North AmericaPeriodic air travel required, reasonable access to regional airportRelentless self-evaluation, continuous improvement, and striving for improved customer touchesRequirements:High school diploma or equivalent; further education is a plusAt least two years manufacturing, mechanical or agricultural experienceStrong mechanical background, ideally with experience in processing or conveying equipmentAbility to set priorities, utilize and coordinate resources, and manage visits from start to finish with little supervisionCustomer service oriented personality and approachExcellent English verbal and written communication skillsComputer proficiency, including demonstrated experience with Microsoft productsPreferred OSHA s
