Central Utility Plant Operating Engineer
New London CT
As a Central Utility Plant Operating Engineer you will be required to monitor and control the Central Utility Plant (CUP) equipment by utilizing all provided Building Monitoring Systems and manual controls, as needed, ensuring all equipment is operating safely andeconomically-efficientas possible within theequipment's/propertiesestablished limits.
Duties
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated critical thinking individual with the ability to work independently at times with little to no immediate oversight.
Able to perform initialinspection/assessmentas first responder to occupant reports of defects in regards to buildings and facility services equipment (i.e.- HVAC, doors, electrical problems, etc.) as needed.
Perform preventative maintenance on Central Utility Plant affiliated equipment (i.e. - Chiller Flush's, Fire Pump Testing, Generator Testing, etc...)
Ability to read and understand Maintenance Operating Procedures, Emergency Response Procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures and document use of which as needed.
Able to perform scheduled property walkthroughs (rounds) and inspections on various building systems throughout the Facility/Campus and provide detailed written report of any deficiencies/issues identified to Facility Management for correction
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot alarms identified, control and command the sites various Building Monitoring Systems (Metasys Extended Architecture, PMI, Lithonia Lighting System, Trane OWS) as needed to ensure all equipment is operating safely and within established limits
Able to perform water chemistry for boiler water, chilled water and condensate water systems.
Provide regular updates to MaintenanceManagement/Supervisionregarding the Operating status of Central Utility Plant (CUP) equipment.
Ability to start up, monitor, reset and shut down all Central Utility Plant equipment as needed (i.e. - Boilers, Chillers, Emergency Generators, etc.)
Experience:
Plant Operators: 3 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
Boiler License (Preferred)
EPA Universal Certification (Preferred)
Connecticut OE-2, S-1 or S-2 license (Required)
Estimated compensation for this position is:
89,440.00 89,440.00 USD
