We have an exciting opportunity for a Renewable Energy Safety Manager , who will provide front-line management support to our Field Operations team in the development and safe operation of our renewable energy initiatives. In this role, you will collaborate with Management to provide high-level technical assistance to our operating locations, including renewable energy distribution, and help ensure compliance with all applicable regulations through the development and enforcement of company safety policies and procedures.

ResponsibilitiesProvides on-site supervision, guidance, and oversight to RNG Management and Staff. Develops and sustains cooperative working relationships with Operational Management through regular written and verbal communication. Understands and interprets applicable regulations to ensure compliance. Provides guidance to Operations on clear policies and procedures for regulatory and safety compliance. Assists with incident/accident investigations and provides emergency response guidance, coordinating contingency plans in conjunction with the Area Safety Manager. Reviews incident/injury/illness data and RSI reports to recommend remedial actions and challenge questionable violations or non-preventable crash determinations. Provides training and guidance in accordance with Suburban Propanes policies and procedures, including Hands-on Technical Training, Skill Evaluations, classroom training, monthly safety meeting content, and safety-related publications. Schedules and completes Safety and Compliance Reviews, documenting findings and ensuring outstanding issues are resolved. Assists in the completion of special projects as directed by the Area Safety Manager. Reviews CDL/DOT Applicant credentials (MVR; PSP Scorecard) to assist in the hiring process. Assists with the evaluation and due diligence of potential projects and opportunities.
This role requires extended hours at times to support business requirements, including some overnight stays
and travel between our facilities in AZ, NY, and OH.

QualificationsMinimum of an Associates Degree in a technical field such as Science or Engineering or equivalent training (trade certification may also be considered) Thorough knowledge of safety program administration in a related field (Utility; Natural Gas; Environmental; Renewable Energy; Transportation of Hazardous Materials) Minimum of three years of similar experience in the propane, distillate, or related industry Working knowledge of applicable regulations, i.e. OSHA, FMCSA/DOT, EPA, NFPA etc. Ability to effectively communicate regulatory and company policy information to employees Ability to write accurate and concise reports pertaining to accidents and incidents Ability to work under pressure and take control during a crisis situation Must have valid drivers license (Commercial drivers license preferred) with acceptable driving record
